PC Hardware Components

 PC Hardware Components :

1.Processor (The Central Processing Unit)

 - The processor box pack contains the  Processor, a heat sink and a condenser  fan  which should be fitted on the motherboard with - a. Power cable which comes from the SMPS and an ATX cable to be fitted on the motherboard. It should be connected in the CPU Socket. High Performance Technologies like Cores & Threads which affects the Clock Speed,Hyper-threading Technology, Turbo -boost, Thermal Design Power  (TDP) ,  LGA Socket type, Virtualisation Technology  are  also  a  part  of  the  CPU.  The Higher the Level  of  the   Cache  memory, the faster  is the  operating performance.

2.Motherboard

- The motherboard box pack contains - 1.the main board, 2.SATA (or PATA & FDD) Cable, 3.the Tin-plate for guarding the back panel and the manual. It has 3 MAIN chips on it - A. the I/O (Input/Output) Controller Chip , B.the NORTH BRIDGE CONTROLLER chip  &   C.the SOUTH-BRIBGE CONTROLLER CHIP.

3.RAM  (Randam Access Memory)

- It has different varieties, the SD Ram was previously used,  the DDR Ram is being used now-a-days. DDR Ram has also many versions.  V1 is almost obsolete and V2 also the same with FSB (i.e. the Front Side Bus Speed of the RAM) of 667mhz and 800mhz,whereas DDR ram V3 is being used now-a-days with higher FSB {the Front Side Bus-(the Bi-directional Universal Switch) which are the lines between the North Bridge Controller and the Processor are measured in mhz}  with drastic speeds of  1066mhz, 1333mhz  and also of 1600mhz. These RAM should fit in the DIMM (Dual Inline Memory Module) Slot on the motherboard.

4.Hard disk drive

 - It is represented as the HDD and a secondary & permanent storage memory.  Previously HDD with PATA (Parallel Advanced Technology Attachment) Cables were used, now-a-days SATA HDD are used which requires a SATA or PATA (Parallel Advanced Technology Attachment) cable to get the Signal connected and the power is connected from the line out from SMPS. External Hard Disk are also connected by USB cable to the USB ports of the computer. Internal HDD should fit in the rightmost section of the cabinet. It contains the  innermost parts like  BOOM , HEAD , SECTOR , SPINDLE , SPINDLE MOTOR , TRACK , SHAFT ,PLATTER ,CYLINDER , HEAD ARM , ARM ASSEMBLY ,READ-WRITE HEAD , HEAD ACTUATOR  &  the  CHASSIS.

5.DVD RW drive

 - The box pack comes with the DVD-RW drive and few screws which should be attached to the right most panel in the cabinet and connected with a Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) cable with the motherboard for receiving the signal and and one ATA power converter which should be attached one end with the DVD-RW drive and the other to the three pin connector out from the SMPS.

6.MonitorImage result for dvd rom types

- The box pack contains the monitor itself , a stand and a HDMI cable. The monitor should be connected with the HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) cable to the back panel of the cabinet and a power cable to the  UPS (if any) or with the cabinet.

7.Keyboard & Mouse

 - They both come together in a combo pack in case of Microsoft And Logitech with a violet and a green colored PS-2 (Personal Standard) port for keyboard and mouse respectively along with a PS2 to USB converter jack.

8.AT/ATX Cabinet

 - Previously cabinet with AT (Advanced Technology) SMPS was used, now-a-days Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) with ATX (Advance Technology Extended) technology are being used.

9.Speaker box

 - It comes with one woofer and sub woofers and it's a sound output system.

10.UPS

(Uninterrupted Power Supply) - It may be of  600 VA or 800 VA (Volt Ampere) and provides  backup current  during a power cut situation. If  UPS is used then the UPS power chord should be connected to the main power board and a power cable from the Cabinet as well as a power cable from the monitor should be connected to the UPS.

11.Graphics Card

 - The graphics card  comes either with a separate cooler fan or with an ODB (silent)
cooler which should  fit in the PCIE X16 (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express) - a black or blue colored slot on the motherboard. Required for enhancing the graphics quality, resolution to play highly configured games and run animation and technical softwares.

12.Sound Card

 - Generally this is required for motherboard  not having support for a 5.1 or a 7.1 sub woofer system, this is required to play highly configured sound systems like 5.1 or 7.1 speaker system or in case of a home theater. It should be connected in the PCI slot-white coloured slot on the motherboard.

14.LAN Card

 - Generally this is required for motherboard  to connect one computer to the other computer with a Local Area Network with a very High Speed for the internet connection to be shared. This was required in earlier days with motherboards of lower configuration. It is not used currently. It should be connected in the PCI slot- a white coloured slot on the motherboard
